Nurse With Wound 'Alice The Goon/Funeral Music for Perez Prado' LP
April 2023
A new NWW mutation, with some of the most hauntingly evocative pieces in Stapleton's catalog, as striking and unusual as anything else Nurse With Wound has produced. A coherent sampler of Nurse With Wound’s range of dark and humorous that includes a full side of “Funeral Music For Perez Prado" on vinyl for the first time, the masterpiece "(I Don’t Want to Have ) Easy Listening Nightmares" from "Alice the Goon", and a Colin Potter remix/rework of this track ’ renamed as “Alice The Goon (A Floating Eye)”.
The tracks have been remastered by Colin Potter for a new full LP with a new Babs Santini artwork.
''(I Don’t Want to Have ) Easy Listening Nightmares" is here in all its insane, off-kilter glory &
“Alice The Goon (A Floating Eye)” a rework by Colin Potter makes it even more deranged & heavy.
“Funeral Music For Perez Prado” is one of the most atmospheric ambient tracks by Stapleton, centering around a shakuhachi phrase played by David Jackman aka Organum back in '87. Truly beautiful.
Norman Records : Surreal, comical and absurd tracks from Nurse With Wound, including the whacky looping psychedelic rhumba freakout '(I Don´t Want To Have) Easy Listening Nightmares', and a nutty, noisier remix by Colin Potter entitled 'Alice The Goon (A Floating Eye). Following that insanity, we get the haunting glacial ambience of 'Funeral Music For Perez Prado' which is built around a stirring shakuhachi phrase played by David Jackman (Organum) in 1987, and seems to leave spectral residues of sound hovering around the room once it's over. Audio remastered by Colin Potter and new artwork by Babs Santini.
